Camille Wildenburg Art Works
Camille B Wildenburg Artist Statement:
Color, line, texture, and space four elements that when combined in just the right way, create luminous and viscous texture through the simple use of the medium, paint. Those four elements of art describe my work.
As an artist I enjoy the sensual quality of paint. I work to immediately express myself through the use of the medium by using line and the mixture of colors of paint to create areas of textures within space. By manipulating the medium it offers possibilities that are both intuitive and planned. Working within the parameters of geometric shapes provides a stage for the movement of the paint. Dividing the format creates an opportunity for me to experiment and introduce multiple textures relying on light to amplify the richness inherent in the paint to signify something much deeper than what meets the naked eye.
I want to manifest these spaces that use line and texture to give the viewer a sense of being engulfed by the painting into the different illusions and reflections within a color. In these spaces, color is no longer color, it is an area that shows depth with every stroke of paint that creates texture; These additives affect both the viscosity and luminosity. I have realized that color choices impact the process in a way that is secondary to both visual and actual tactile experience.
My concept: Take the simple subject of paint and present it through the concept of texture.
I look forward to continuing the adventure.
